Excursion

A marine ecology and ocean literacy field trip to Seili Marine Station which is a part of the pan-European Research Infrastructure known as the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC-ERIC). The trip involved students from Aalto University, Iceland University of the Arts, Estonian Academy of Arts and Marine & Social Scientists from KTH & Kristineberg Marine Station in Sweden, Helsinki University, Uniarts Helsinki and University of Turku.

Guest lectures were provided by Taru Elfving, director and cofounder of Contemporary Art Aarchipelago (CCA), Jaanika Blomster, university lecturer and director of the bachelor’s programme in Environmental Sciences, as well as Postdoctoral Researcher Katja Mäkinen and Professor emeritus of Environmental Research Ilppo Vuorinen.
